Read word document and detect text and images

I want to read a word document, and detect all text and images, so that it writes something to a text file if it reads text and something else if it reads an image, at the time that it is being read.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

What I have tried:

I haven't tried anything really, I just want to know if its possible, and get any suggestions to any examples I could look at.

You need to use Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word namespace ()[^]
