Why the default color space of opencv is RGB?

The default color space of OpenCv is RGB. While HSV has also same color space. Moreover, HSV also helps a lot in color segmentation. Then why OpenCv has stuck to RGB?

What I have tried:

I did not make any attempt to code that.
