Using excel RTD on networked computer

I am trying to access data using Excel 2016 over a LAN from an RTD server but I can't seem to get it to work. The cell just shows 'N/A'. If I run Excel on the same PC as the RTD server it works fine so maybe its a DCOM issue? After searching the internet, I have messed about with various DCOM settings but to no avail.

Has anybody ever got this to work and if so, how? Alternatively, does anyone have any suggestions as to what I might need to set or how I could diagnose the source of the problem?

I am running Excel 2016 and both PCs are running Windows 10.

I have tried changing DCOM settings and security settings in Excel. Also tried turning off the firewall on both PCs (they aren't connected to the internet).
