Developing a campus navigation application for a university

Hello everybody!
I need to develop a Navigation System for my university a final project.
My experience with Java is really small and I don't really know where to start.

What I have tried:

I started creating GUI with JavaFX, but even there I'm not sure if it's the best solution...

I really need some help and would be thankful for every suggestion or hint!!!

I would suggest you choose a totally different project and language; something that you at least have some experience of. You also need to understand that creating a GUI is not the way to start a project. You need to create an overall design first.

You should start reading some Java tutorials, Google is your friend[^].

May be you should choose a project involving a language you know better.
