Hi,

A topic(CheckComboBox Control[^]) posted on code project that we found it useful and would like to use for commercial purpose. We have posted our query regarding license terms and conditions on the topic page but there is no reply from author. Also we have sent a mail to author but there is no reply from author for mail as well. Is there any other medium to reach the author?

There is no explicit license terms and conditions mentioned on the topic page.
Could you please let us know what is the default terms and conditions if it is not mentioned explicitly by author?

What I have tried:

It looks to me you've already made all the possible steps.

CheckComboBox.cpp contains:
C++
// Written by Magnus Egelberg (magnus.egelberg@lundalogik.se)
//
// Copyright (C) 1999, Lundalogik AB, Sweden. All rights reserved.
//
//

There is no other copyright regime mentioned in the article. These come from here: Licenses[^]
That means that you need to contact the author who does not seem to have been active on CP for a while. However he is on Linkedin and elsewhere.

The article states:
Quote:
This article has no explicit license attached to it but may contain usage terms in the article text or the download files themselves. If in doubt please contact the author via the discussion board below.

You have tried to contact the author for permission to use it, but he does not appear to have logged in since 2002, so it's unlikely that your message has reached him - or the other messages in a similar vein last year. And there is no other way to contact him, since his bio is blank.

As such, either you don't use it, or you read this:
Quote:
Well, I hope someone finds this useful. At least I did.
As "implicit permission to use as you will" and include links and such in your code should he eventually respond negatively.

I'd give it at least a whole week before assuming permission though.
