I notice that all processes started under MPI are gone when the computer wakes up from a sleeping mode. Is this normal behavior? Is there any setting that keeps the processes alive?

What I have tried:

e.g.
mpiexec notepad.exe

set computer in sleep mode
when waking up, the notepad.exe process is gone

Might be for MPI, you would need to ask them.

I have to ask my you're using MPIEXEC and sleeping the machine? MPIEXEC is for launching certain types of processes in a High Performance Computing cluster, where machines are usually not allowed to go to sleep anyway.
