Android - firebase onmessagereceived not called when app in background

Hello i prepare a push notification app. i am using firebase to make them.i have a class
MyFirebaseMessagingService and a function onMessageReceived. its work normal when the app is on foreground and isn't work when the app is on background.
any help? thanks in advance...
