Hi all,

I'm writing a directX application that loads various images, videos and pdf for presentations (think windows explorer). Obviously loading lots of large files for browsing is slow and tedious and so I want to speed this up by using the thumb cache.

I'm sure I read somewhere that you can extract an image from this file based on its file name and / or location, but I can't seem to find the link again. Could anybody point me in the right direction?

Cheers in advance.

Note: I'm wanting to get the thumbnail image of a file, NOT create the interface that lets thumbnails be made from my application.

Thanks mate, that's exactly what I was after. Not sure how I managed to miss that the first time I used that page, must have been too tired. Now have the code working nicely. If anyone needs a copy of it (for whatever reason) let me know.
