I have been programming in VB.NET for a while now but I have only been coding Desktop Applications. I now want to move to web application development. Can someone point me to the right direction or to some tutorial that will get me started from scratch.

What I have tried:

I have done some googling but only got some advanced stuff I couldn't understand.

Thanks for your answer, let me go through that and see. I wanted something that would take me to multi-tenant ASP examples though because of some urgent project here.

OK, then Google for "multi-tenant asp.net" and start reading. You're not going to find a shortcut that tells you everything you need to know in five sentences and you're not going to get all the background just by looking at sample code.
A big thank you to Dave Kreskowiak for pointing me to the right direction.

I got started with Getting started wit ASP.NET 4.5 Web forms and so far all is fine. Its a good start.
