How do I stay logged in even after the app is forced quit but not sign out in ionic framework ?

I am using local storage jwt authentication while logging in. I have to log in every time I open my app. Is there a way to stay logged in like any other apps until unless we specifically sign out ? Please help . Thanks

What I have tried:

I have tried with localstorage.set but it's not safe to store the token in local storage . Is there any other way ?
