Hello,

I am not sure if I am posting this in the right place or if you can help, but any information would be much appreciated.

I use an application for work that compiles readings taken from gearboxes, the application has been working until recently when we started getting a black background to it, which means we cant read the information as it is black text.

I managed to resolve the problem on an xp machine by using system restore, and taking it back to its original state, then reinstalling the software.

The problem is now happening on windows 7 machines, that are brand new.

Any information would be greatly appreciated and i can only apologise in advance if this is completely the wrong place to try and get information.

Many thanks,

Chris

Not quite clear of your issue. You application is blacked out in Win7.. is that your problem?

Did the software's license expire?

Window 7 comes with .net 3.5.1 (which also includes 3.5, 3.0, 2.0, but not 1.1). Have a look at the first link for a summary of the installed .net version by windows version.

Normally .net 1.1 won't install on windows 7, but...

Instructions to install it anyway:

Good luck!

The software was created by a previous employer who left on bad terms, and is no license, just an activation code when first installing. I have the installation code generator.

I have managed to install the .net 1.1 on windows 7, but the problem is persisting?

Thanks for everyone's help so far :)
