I usually host an asp.net site in iis by creating a virtual directory and pointing it to the site folder. can we call this a hot deployment?

What I have tried:

I am trying to understand difference between hosting in iis and hot deployment. Hot deployment Mentions we can make the changes to the file which reflects which is same like we do hosting in iis.
