My laptop is HP Probook 450 so I have been wondering do I need a cooler with a fan on the bottom of my laptop or I need it on my right side where the largest part of holes are? Meaning do I need a big cooler, or the small ones attached on the side of your laptop?

What I have tried:

I don't really know from where my laptop let's off heat.

So turn it on, run it for an hour or so flat on a table and then feel the table and the bottom of the lappie. The bit that needs the cooler is the bit that feels hottest...

Or contact HP and ask them: this isn't really a suitable question for a development site.
