How do I bold selected text in an RDLC data table row

An RDLC datatable was created with data arranged in 3 rows. Each row consists of approximately 18 strings, each separated by a carriage return and a line feed (vbCrLf). I want to bold specific strings in each row based on a condition, but have not been successful. Has anyone worked with RDLCs in this manner? I am open to any suggestions as I haven't any experience with Report Viewer. Thanks.

What I have tried:

I have tried separating the strings into an array, evaluating each using a richtextbox and setting the font to bold based on a set of conditions, but the formatting doesn't remain when the report is displayed.

I tried setting the font style in the datagridview before passing it to the RDLC, but the formatting does not carry over.
