I want to create an expert system that analyze depression rate in patients

am working on a project that deals with analysis of depression rate in patients using soft computing, i want to create a scenario where the patient is assessed in the absence of the physician and the expert system computes the degree/rate of depression and sends the result to a designated physician.

What I have tried:

initially did some windowsform application, buh am finding it difficult to generate and link my knowledge base and finalize decision through inference engine

Not really a specific enough question for anyone to provide help for.

You need to specify what you've tried to do and maybe some example code of what has not worked.
