Access the windows mobile 6 keyboard from your app

I am new to WM6. I recently built an app but I noticed that when I run it on the emulator then the WM keyboard isn't shown when I click on a textbox for input.
Do I have to enable this in my application or will it appear when I actually deploy to a real device?
