With the hopes of getting my SCJP I went to Oracle's website to try and happened upon their list of exams and certifications. No where do I find it directly says how to get my SCJP so I googled it and got the following:
Quote:

New Names for Sun Certifications under Oracle

Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP) SE 6 Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 6 Programmer
Sun Certified Java Developer (SCJD) Oracle Certified Master, Java SE6 Developer

So anyways I am now signed up to take the 1Z0-851: Java Standard Edition 6 Programmer Certified Professional exam in hopes this is what I need to get my SCJP certification. Am I slated to take the correct exam?? Also I presume the SCJP is the best, but would it be better to get certified in Java 7 or 8?
(Take note I don't even have a job in the IT industry at the moment)

Oracle's Certification List

Thanks in advance!

What I have tried:

Googling everywhere... reading everything... searching here...

According to Wiki, Java SE is the new SCJP. See Oracle Certification Program - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[^]. Also there is a good chart in there to visually see the various options, https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/33/Java_Certification_Path.gif[^].

I would also expect it to be better to do Java 8 instead of 7 since it tends to be better to certify in what is most recent and current.
