hi

Im new to networking. i have a printer (HP LaserJet 1020) and i want to share it between the 4 computer with windows 7 ,one with windows 8 OS and one with windows XP installed. I don't want it to be share like if i want to print a page then the system on which it is installed has to be turned on. If just the printer is on i can print the page using any of the machine. I tried searching it but the results just showed that you share the printer by the share printer option on the system.

thank you

You need an ethernet interface in the printer.
Usually there is a N in the end of the HP model number.

After that, the printer is declared to each user as a network printer.
