What happend to backlinks when one domain is redirected to another domain?

I am a Blogger and I want to redirect my blog to new domain but I dont know if I redirect my domain to another then my old backlinks will pass link juice to my new one or not. please help me.

What I have tried:

I had trieed but I did not know it is working or not ?

Depends...Are those links relative or absolute?
Relatives will point to the new domain...absolute will need some attention...
