I was reading a statement saying,

. I am a final year Electronics Engineering Undergrad. Can I get a explanation for what is a tool chain from a beginner's perspective ?
Also Can you explain about GNU tool chain in specific ?

What I have tried:

I googled it out and found Wikipedia's definition to be completely misleading.

It's just a buzzword for a set of tools.
