Parent site session is not getting in sub site in asp.net.

In my ASP.NET 2005 application, I am setting a session["username"] after successful login of a user. This session is not getting in my sub site.
(While hosting I have copied the sub site application in to parent website and converted application in IIS for browsing)
Is there any reason for this issue?

What I have tried:

Tried to access through query string also but not successful.

Different sites do not share session values.
