How do i connect my asp.net application to excel sheet

i wish to connect my asp.net application to excel sheet database, but am enable to do it through simple OLED where i am not getting a proper provider for excel database,
how i can achieve this??for this any installation required like any external component??
can any one help me out for this??

You can check if you have the right drivers installed. This page might help if you are using Office 2007. Alternate approach could be to make use of OpenXML. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=23734
