How do I Format people picker in custom visual webpart

I have a custom visual web part. I am creating a custom form where in I am adding a people picker control of SharePoint Controls. I need to align it to next to the text box control. How can I format it. By default, the width is coming 80 pixels, also it floats to the right of the table
