Expert,we have migrated documents from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013 and have applied the same search setting like Ranking preference in Order Name,Document Number and Title. But it when we do a string search the result displayed in 2010 looks perfectly fine it takes the ranking order that we have mentioned but the same things doesn't happen in SP 2013 we tried changing the Default Search Mode to O14 Default Search Model just for the compatibility test etc to see if it behaves same as 2010.But it doesn't work does anyone have any idea what is going on or have experienced similar issue in there Sharepoint implementation.Looking for some experts opinion on this as this is becoming critical for customer.

What I have tried:

1.We read somewhere that the O14 ranking model is same as 2010 and results should be in same order as of 2010 sites. But even after setting this model, we could find differences in order in 2010 and 2013 sites.

2.Also We have tried “Dynamic Ordering” but the query rules was better than dynamic ordering. We incorporated following settings in the search center of site to achieve the results –
1.Go to ‘Search Query Rules’
2.Select content source from drop down and click on ‘ Create new Rule’
3.Under Actions section – click on ‘Change ranked results by changing the query’
4.In the pop up window below Sorting tab, select Sort by as ‘Rank’ and Ranking model as ‘Default Search Model’
