How to solve an error in visual studio

I am working with visual studio 2013 for desktop application in wpf. OS is windows 8.1.
i got one notification to update, after getting that notification for update related windows 8.1 i updated. But after updation visual studio 2013 is showing an error when i add page to existing project, opening new project etc but i am able to run previous projects.

the error message is

Failed to create a 'ImageSource from the text'../Images/Medium.png'.

Please help me I am not able to work with visual studio 2013.

May sound like a silly question, but have you rebooted your machine ? A recent upgrade of a 3rd. party C# component on my Win 8.1 machine resulted in VStudio crashing ... until I rebooted my machine.

Solution 1

This is because you migrated from windows 8 to windows 8.1
First Go to Control Panel --> Check Updates for Windows 8.1
Install All Important Updates
Restart Your Pc
All things will properly work..

Effectively when there are mysteriuous errors, it is a good idea to reboot the computer. Sometime, there are issue after upgrading something and a reboot might be required even if not explicitly asked (although other time, the opposite also occurs).
