how to update primary email address in office 365

Hi All,

I am getting below error while i am trying alert me option with username , can you please guide me how to update primary email address, i am getting editable for alternative email address but not primary email

You do not have an e-mail address.
Alert has been created successfully but you will not receive notifications until valid e-mail or mobile address has been provided in your profile.
