serial loopback c program in linux

Hello friend
im new to c programing now started with some advance c programing.
im trying to develop a code which ha loopback communication using RS232 port
i shorted pin 2 and 3, i want to send the data from a computer and want to receive the same data in the same computer.

Please help me on this this is the project which im doing in my college right now
please help me out with this program.
