How Do I Make A User Login System For My Website In Php Mysql

I have been trying to create a user login for almost a month now and i have no success . I made my sign up file successfully with hash and i have code on that page but when i try to put it on my sign in file it doesn't work. I tried multiple tutorials on YouTube , I tried tutorials on google but none have worked for me . I tried posting some code that i have tried to see if people know the problem but nobody can help me . Do i need to create two different tables in my database ?(One for users to sign up and another for login ?) Do i need to put hash in my login to ? I really don't know what else to do i hope someone can help me ? For my form action in html i put home.php but when i click the login button it automatically takes me to that page , i don't even have to put anything in the username and password fields .
