how to reduce over segmentation in watershed segmentation

I completed watershed image segmentation using vincent soillie algorithm.bt the result seems over segmented...for my project purpose i should get 100 to 200 segments in result..

So how can i prevent over segmentation here...

Ya Exactly ..sorry for tht..i can more clear..

.i did watershed image segmentation using vincent sollie algorithm...k...i got resultant segmented image having more than 600 small irregulr segmnts(patches)..that means oversegmented..

i should get image with Limited patches (segments)...my qustn is how to reduce the number of patches in this vincent sollie algorithm...

If anybdy used ths befre just help me...
