Linking to external Data source from SQL Server

I need to link to a Foxpro database that resides on another user's machine. I'm having trouble getting the connection correct. Do I need to link this as another server or can I just link to the datasource? If I can just link to the datasource how do I go about that? I tried doing an import wizard to do a link and it's not accepting the pathname of the file.

Solution 1

I think the easiest route might be to set up an ODBC DSN and then pull the data from there. I was having trouble with a legacy MySQL database and this solution worked.

Should be pretty simple to do this, here's a link to help[^] get the settings right, depending on your approach.
