You already answered your own question, just do it. What exactly is unclear?
As to the "own streaming logic", what is it supposed to be? What's the problem with media files and what makes you thinking it's related specifically to "streaming logic"?

Anyway, if the logic is yours, the implementation should be yours, isn't it logical? :-)
