hei Richard MacCutchan i am glad you have responded to my ques and thankyou for the link.by the way i did not ask the ready made code i have asked a help to provide the API or DLL's or predefined functions if exists that can be used to generate the report

Unfortunately your original question was not clear as to what help you were asking for, hence my response.

You can use the WMI API from Microsoft to get the information from the system, it uses simple SQL syntax.
