How to identify the first visible item in a listview in LargeIcon view? (VB Net or C#)

I am using a Listview in LargeIcon view to display thumbnails. The listview items are loaded first without thumbnails, then I want want to display thumbnails on only visible items when user scrolls up and down.

My problem is that I can't figure out a way to identify the first visible item (item index etc.) I know there is a TopItem property in listview, but it doesn't seem to work in LargeIcon view.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
