What is the difference between Project and Website in Visual Studio 2010?

Hi,

I have searched the Google for the Difference between
File--> New---> "Project.."

versus

File--> New---> "Website".

I am getting difference between "Web application Vs WebSite in Visual studio", but that not i am looking for.

Kindly friends, Masters of Visual Studio, Suggest me..
What is the difference between "File--> New --> Project, n File--> New--> Website.?

hi, thanks.
but while creating a web application in VS 2010,
there i get 2 ways:
1) Project, 2) Website.
Thus, Project means "Web Application Projects?"
and Website means "Web Site Projects" ?

Basically, a web app is fully compiled. Great if you want a deploy and forget approach as it's the easiest way to code, but not so great if you want to make changes in situ.
A website project has compiled code in the App_Code folder. Other pages are not fully compiled so changes can be made to the markup.

There are plenty of nuances to the two types of project but that's the main difference in my experience.

I exclusively use web application format now. Deploying changes is simple enough and most of the changes are usually in the code-behind anyway

'Project' , and 'Website, 'Web Application Project' & 'Website Project'.

The difference is that New Project is something you use, New Website is something you don't :)
