How do I overcome these issues when I install VS2013?

Goodday to you all.

I am trying to install Visual Studio Professional 2013, but whenever I click install, Windows gives me an error and crashes:

Setup detected an issue during the operation. Please click below to check for a solution and help us improve the setup experience.

All programs are closed when during this. I have tried doing the setup in Safe Mode, restarted Windows Update, restarted all (Windows) Services and tried during SFC /ScanNow. SFC also gave me an error saying:

Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.

I have searched everywhere, but yet I cannot find a solution that helps at all.

EDIT: I have VS2010 Ultimate as well, but I do not want to remove it - but I will if necessary.

This is obviously a Microsoft issues and should be reported to them.

Maybe you can try the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.
Joan Murt[^] wrote a useful tip a few days ago about that :
Small Tip to Solve an "Unknown error" 0x80070663 during Windows Update[^]
The error number may not be the same, what is important is the given link to the executable that will check for you if everything is fine for Windows Installer.

Yeah, um that sort of helped but didn't fully fix it. Do you have any other suggestions?

Still has that message. It already fixed corrupt registry keys, but that's not it...I am wondering though, if something is corrupt?

Obviously something has to be corrupted. Unfortunately, I don't have any quick solution. If I were you, facing a problem like this, I would most certainly consider it isn't worth to try and solve it; I would reinstall a clean OS.

Funny, that. I discovered that it was saying (in System Management) that it had a System.OutOfMemoryException. I looked in PERFMON and it looked like it.

That must have something to see with WMI. I would bet you can find some WMI errors in your application or system event log. I'm just not sure it will help to solve the problem.

Fixed it. Anyway, all I did was unistall a ton of stuff.
