Hi,

When we send email to user through SMTP in asp.net, then we need to restricted him from forwarding/replying that email, we can do this through outlook dll but we don't have that installed on server.

Inside a corporate network that you manage, something like IRM[^] might work.

Outside of your network, there is no way to prevent the recipient from forwarding an email.

It would make little sense to apply restrictions to a particular mail client. There is always a way to send whatever the user wants.

Add a threatening message like:
"This email is confidential. You may not forward or otherwise share this message as a whole or in any part. Failure to meet these condition could mean that you are personally liable under the Data Protection and Confidentiality Act 1998"

As Richard mentioned, you can't do it outside your network.

What some companies do is send an email that has a link to a secure site where teh recipient can read the message. The message itself never gets emailed. Of course, they can still copy and paste but it is a bit more secure.
