Portable database for Java

Is there any database LIKE solution that can be used to store data on users machine without installing Manager for it.
Like a library(jar) which once added will store the data passed to it in encrypted files on users machine and can retrieve it when required.
I need it to create light weight application where security is not a big issue.
Does javaDB solve my problem?

After a lot of search I found that java DB can be embedded inside the application, and can even be used with XML.
