Installing SSL certificates on Apache via Cpanel for PHP website

I have purchased an SSL certificate from Godaddy for a domain that is hosted on a Apache server with php and mysql & wordpress for blogs.

The webiste already had certificates which just expired and which i have just renewed from Godaddy.

Do i need to backup the old expired certificates before installing the renewed certificate. Or should i just go ahead and upload & install the certificate not worrying about old certificates.

Please advise
