I am still waiting for the Automatic Witty, Intelligent and Commanding Opinion Replier link.
Actually Eddie could make it one click. All he has to do is drag that last link I provided into his Links bar in IE and then he has a one click option

That's what I thought Chris would do...
Seriously speaking, I think a section in the home page with you top articles (sorted by date or new messages or whatever) would make it easier to keep in touch with the "users" of the articles.

Would it be possible to set up a resume forum where we can post our resumes and help each other with them?

A forum like this one titled 'Developer Issues' or 'Job Issues' or something?

What about making it just a part of person's profile? Optionally, of cause. That way no need to create whole other set of pages for it – just add a field to the table, modify a page where we change/enter our settings and make one page to display resume.
|
|
|
|
|
You mean, like extend the current biography thing to a more extensive thing?
Hmm, I donno. Chris might be worried about wasted bandwidth and extra fields in the DB. He is not great at SQL.

I mean to add another text field to the profile table (or whatever it is called) that will be called Resume. Person will be able to post their resume there in HTML format. Then on the page where person's profile is displayed have link to displayresume.asp page and when it is clicked - boom! - you see the resume.
Very simple idea really, but it will not require file uploading and maintenance - just one extra ASP page. I would imagine that everyone here knows at least basic HTML to be able to format their resume somewhat. If they do not know HTML or do not want to use it - they can just paste it as text.
I hope Chris is reading this, because I volunteer to help making it happen if he wants my help. I work with ASP since 1996 when it first came out and I know a thing or two about it. I also know SQL very well. So if Chris needs help with this - I have some free time here and there lately and I would love to help if I can. I am sure Chris knows how to do it, but I am not sure if he has time with everything else that is going on.

That'll be the end of your account for sure ! Chris is great at SQL - you should see the abominations that I have created as I've been learning! These forums are the best I've ever used, in fact - the Lounge being a testament to that.

I was wondering if you could implement a new functionality to the lounge. I would like some way of filtering to specific days. Some days have a great topics, but if I am gone for a few days I have to hit the next link until I get there. Searching for keywords doesn't help many times becuase the topics change and I obviously don't know the titles of the new threads. If you could implement something like that in a calender control it would be great.

I was wondering if you could add a new section for assembly code for other platforms. The reason is, in my old Atari ST coding days I put together an entire game/editor in assembly code. Instead of seeing the code being lost forever, I could post it as an artical in this kind of area so that it may be of some use to someone in the future.
It would also allow people to run it in an ST emulator if they had one.
Any comments?

Chris, here is an idea for a new poll.
What size monitors do you use?
(a) 14"
(b) 15"
(c) 17"
(d) Bigger than 17"
(e) It doesn't matter
(f) It does matter. I wish I had a bigger monitor
