I'd like to see a nice, clean walk through where a simple class library is created, the documentation is generated with NDoc and the setup project registers the documentation.

i am a beginer to socket programming, i read your article i think it the best for beginers like me, i have two questions;
1. my question is how can i assign a specific ip address to server and client for example 193.125.100.10 and 193.125.100.11 for server and client respectively.
2. 2nd question is i want the application to act as server and client simultaneously, and can chat with multiple peers simultaneously.
i will be greatful for your help, and i am sure you will help beginner like me.

I'd like to see if anyone out there has any experience in catching webdav requests to IIS and redirecting them to an ASPX page for processing. IIS handles webdav requests, but only allows you webdav on a physical windows file system. I'd like to intercept the requests and present my own custom file system to the user. Anyone done anything like this?

Not exactly - have you played with MS Exchange OWA or MS Sharepoint (full or Team Services)? Exchange has its own filesystem, sharepoint has virtual fs mapped to MS SQL server.
I think you may want to read about mod_dav_fs and mod_dav_svn as code examples. These modules are dav storage/mapping/locking plugins for appache, so they do what you want, but on different platform.

I have not played with those products but I have examined them and believe that Sharepoint uses an ISAPI filter to re-route the webdav requests to and from IIS to it's virtual file system. That's basically what I wanted to do. But I suppose if we could build a webdav server with APACHE that would work equally well as long as it ran on Win2k and 2003. I don't necessarily need to run it through IIS if I ship my own web server to do this function. The only issue will be programmatically configuring it so that I can run them both on port 80 on the same box, but with different host headers.

Way back (about 4 years ago) a friend and I developed a web based HTML editor by embedding IE's DHTML control in HTML. It worked fairly nicely in that you could preview your formatting before saving/uploading to a server.
The only thing missing was a pretty Html view. We used a generic Html TEXTAREA tag and filled it with whatever HTML the user typed in. I just got another request for a feature like this. I'm wondering if there is a way to embed a FrontPage or Visual Interdev control (based on which app was installed) for an Html view. The Html view would then have pretty color formatting for elements and attributes, Html indentations, Html validation, etc. ... just like Interdev!
Anyone know what I'm talking about? This would probably make a good 3rd party control if anyone could figure out how to sub-class the MS editor. To reemphasize, I'm not talking about the DHTML control ... been there, done that.

Is there any way to create a simple client/server program in a 16 bit (dos)
project?
I can only use this kind of mode (dos 16 bit) because the microchip i am trying to control remotely connected to the server only supports borland 5.02 DOS 16 BIT projects.

:-OHi,guys... i need your help for my project.
this is my problem, my project need to reporting a report but the form is unusual (Using Crystal Report 8.5 and VB 6.0 Language).
Usualy, we get some recodsets and pass them to report generator. And the recorset will be previewed as rows in report.
Then, my problem is, that rows must be viewed as COLUMN in my report (like Cross TAB) but the number of column each page is fixed (ex. 4 column each page).
So guys... please help me to solve this problem.
My Project is using Visual Basic 6.0 And the report generator is Crystal report 8.5.
Please Help Me frenz...

I now know how to make the panel simply go away.
(panel->Visable = false) So simple! But... how
does the IDE animate their panel (view?) to slide
closed. Is this coded or is there an "animate"
routine? Would it be easier to do in C# than C++?
(I know nothing of C#.)

A pledge: I !will! figure this one out. I would
rather someone else who has done it or knows the

I want to know if the following is possible. I need to create an application that can trap a call from any other application when that application issues a request to get the system date. Then my application will return a date to the calling application which I set. Per example, I have an application that requests a system date from the PC system date. My application traps the call and returns another date which I specify as a parameter. OS Windows XP.

In fact i am new to C++ and i often see the "using namespace std" code in he sources available all over the net...I have concept of name spaces but do not know that what is this namespace std... where it is... and what is in it.... and how to see the identifiers and function of the namespace std...

The std namespace is the namespace used by the standard C++ library. It includes a whole bunch of functionality, mostly template based. If you want to see what's in it, or learn about it, take a look at the following link. Problems:
1. ELEMENT NAME IS THE SAME IN ALL THE NODES, "saml:AttributeValue".
2.I dont want to reframe a new xml file out of this present one, since it increases the
processing time.
3.I cant give an xpath query, directly to the my custom grid control.it will accept only the
element name of a xml file.
Please help me, if you can think of a logic, that has to finally make the 'saml:AttributeValue'
element name unique,without reforming a new xml so that i can directly feed that into my grid
control.

I have been trying to develop a game in my spare time using C# and DirectX9. Asside from the Miller book, I have found very little information on this. It proabbly hurts that I do not have experience programming in DX before directx 9.
I would really like a whole mess of articles (even a new section) dedicated to DX9 under the managed C# enviroment. There are lots of little things I do not know how to do, even after reading the Miller book. For example:
1. How to write an application that lets you toggle between windowed and full screen mode?
2. How do you do transparent maps? Just using an RGBA image as a map doesn't work, although it works just fine under openGL.
3. So you have some complex dynamically generated object and your application chugs, how do you get it to run really fast?
I am sure there are 100s of little knick-kanck problems like these that are not well (or even addressed) in the Miller book. Basically I would like a series of articles written that teach you everything there is to know about managed directx 9.

The, without doubt, coolest web-page I've ever seen is OWA 2003 (Outlook Web Access). I think it would be very cool with an article or article series with the dissection of the techologies used in OWA. Client side and (with Lutz Roeder's .net Reflector) server side code.
