Windows shape seems to be theme related, so i'm going to invenstigage the windows theme DLL. If it's disabled, then the windows will be square by default, but some custom theme styles use square as well.
Additionaly, I've got a problem with finding out information on the font and colour of text for windows caption bars.
Do you know where I could find out about this?
Cheers

Yes. ::GetWindowRgn() takes that into account.

::GetSysColor(COLOR_CAPTIONTEXT) and ::GetSysColor(COLOR_INACTIVECAPTIONTEXT) might do the trick for the color part.
Check ::GetStockObject() for the font part. I really don't know if it's covered here, but it might be worth the check anyway.

I`m doing datawarehouse task for my degree. You`re doing a datamining project? CAn you tell me more about it? I have done it myself using decision tree. But I think it has the wrong algorithm.

hi,
i am doing datamining in Health care area.so u r using decision trees.why don't u use microsoft analysis services.
that component itself providing decision tree algorithm.
Here i am using analysis services that comes with sql server2000.
where u from ?.what kind of project u are working ?.if u specify the problem domain,may be i can share my little exprience with you.

Well i haven`t known sql server before. So I build it using my own application. I am studying sql server now.
From indonesia, maybe a place where you have never imagine.
I`m doing a project for my degree, about implementation of datawarehouse at a company. Thanks for the help again. Maybe if i have another problem, i`ll contact you

Abstract
Data classification is an important problem in data mining. The traditional classification algorithms based on decision trees have been widely used due to their fast model construction and good model understandability. However, the existing decision tree algorithms need to recursively partition dataset into subsets according to some splitting criteria i.e. they still have to repeatedly compute the records belonging to a node (called F-sets) and then compute the splits for the node. For large data sets, this requires multiple passes of original dataset and therefore is often infeasible in many applications. In this paper we present a new approach to constructing decision trees using pre-computed data cube. We use statistics trees to compute the data cube and then build a decision tree on top of it. Mining on aggregated data stored in data cube will be much more efficient than directly mining on flat data files or relational databases. Since data cube server is usually a required component in an analytical system for answering OLAP queries, we essentially provide “free” classification by eliminating the dominant I/O overhead of scanning the massive original data set. Our new algorithm generates trees of the same prediction accuracy as existing decision tree algorithms such as SPRINT and RainForest but improves performance significantly. In this paper we also give a system architecture that integrates DBMS, OLAP, and data mining seamlessly.

hi
I have an MFC MDI application, in which i carry out an process and at the end open an log file.
This process involves quite a lot of time. During this process, i want to implement a progress bar, showing the status of the process. How do i do tht.
Can someone, please help me on this. I thank in advance.
cheers

You can have a simple dialog loaded from the MDI - It would be only displaying the progress bar. The value of the progress bar can be set from the parent MDI.

I tried that. But that doesn't happen in parallel. Only after the progress completes, my process of loading the file starts.

Hi ,
I want to add a menu to dialog bar, not dialog box. For dialog bar, the menu property is disabled.Is there a way to to this?
My Main aim is to have a seperate menu for MDIChild window-form view. So I intend to attach a menu to dailobar and add this dialog bar to form view. I want to use a dialog bar instead of a dialog here.The problem with dialog box is when the focus is on the view, the dialog menu appears to be disabled i.e grayed and vice versa. Or cau you please suggest how to make the dailog appear to be eanbled irrespective of focus
Thanks
madhavi.

Hi!
Can somebody help me out?
I get a syntax error, when I try to compile this code.
The syntax error indicates,that I'm missing something before the else if(riid==IID_IX).
Can somebody help me out? Thanks!
if (riid == IID_IUnknown)
*ppvObject = static_cast<iunknown*>
else if(riid == IID_IX)
*ppvObject = static_cast<ix*>(this);
else if(riid == IID_IY)
*ppvObject = static_cast<iy*>(this);
else
{
ppvObject = NULL;
hr = E_NOINTERFACE;

|
|
|

You're missing the argument to static_cast . Btw, the code looks very suspect. Why do you have a nested if when all you really need to do (imho) is:
if ((riid == IID_IUnknown) ||
(riid == IID_IX) ||
(riid == IID_IY))
*ppvObject = static_cast(this);
else {
ppvObject = NULL;
hr = E_NOINTERFACE;
...
}

I think you miss ";" at the end of the line " *ppvObject = static_cast ",do you?

From MSDN, it says
GetDefaultPrinter is included in Windows 2000 or later.
I am using WIndows XP, and look at the windows.h and winspool.h, I could find the declaration of this function.
In fact I try to run the following sample code provided by MSDN at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/gdicpp/GDIPlus/UsingGDIPlus/Printing/SendingGDIPlusOutputtoaPrinter.asp
But it failed by saying the GetDefaultPrinter undefined.
Can anyone help me to fix this problem? Becasue I would like bypass the Printer Diolog using GetDefaultPrinter.
Thanks a lot
David
