it can output the data, but the button column not show in button, when I click the button column, then give me these errors:

hi lisa, this is happening when you run the test app? it runs fine on my machine. are you sure you haven't modified the code at all in the test project. the line of code you reference above is erroring at line 86, but that line of code is at 94 (or so, I don't have the project open right now) in the project that I downloaded yesterday.
as for the error though i would step through the code to ensure that the rect and _buttonface objects are being created properly.
_buttonface is being created in the objects constructor while rect is being created just before the line that's erroring out.
those are the only two objects that could possibly be a null reference in that line as far as i can tell.

I can run the example I downloaded in that site. But there is a problem that's I don't understand the DataGridButtonColumn.vb file, I don't know any about the DrawButton, DrawImage, MouseDown, MouseUp...and if I copy their codes to my application, then it can't work..
by the way, do you know where this colNum naem called from?

You haven't given us anything to help you out. What does your code look like? What are you trying to do? What libraries are you using for the video cap?

I want to be able to input some info from my form into a word document - like a mail merge. I've found tons of articles here about opening up a word doc but not how to insert objects from a vb.net form into it. All the info that I want to put into the word doc are in seperate txt boxes and cmbo boxes. Any help is appreciated!

I have a custom made shell running in place of the normal windows desktop, and form this the user can select an icon that will run a Perl executable. This then calls another application (known as ui.exe) and terminates. The problem I have is that I am trying to find when the application (ui.exe) is closed down. I can't use the WaitForSingleObject because this will only trap when the Perl executable completes.
Therefore I decided to use the EnumProcesses API to get the ProcessIDs currently running, and then to use OpenProcess to get the process handles. After this I have put in place the API EnumProcessModules followed by GetModuleFileNameEx to ensure which processId goes with the application name ui.exe. I was then hoping to use the ui.exe application name and monitor this via the use of a timer that will continuously check for the processId running. When it finishes then I was going to log this in a file.
However when I call OpenProcess the process handles returned are always 0 (although at this stage I only have processes running such as explorer.exe). I have set the desired access to be PROCESS_QUERY_INFORMATION or PROCESS_VM_READ. I have also tried PROCESS_ALL_ACCESS but that did not seem to help.
I am currently running the application in development to see what information I get back.
Can anyone help me out on this.

I have the next problem:
In text field I print some numeric value, which can't be out of some range. if it is, the next code inits Message Box:

Hi,
I have a DTPicker control in my Program and I want to embed a Check box in it.
So I wrote the below line:
DTPicker1.CheckBox = True
But the inital value of that check box is checked
I want a Check Box in DTPicker in which it is not initially checked.
In the Property Page of DTPicker ,I tried to uncheck it and Apply, But it is not reflecting in the Application.
Will anybody please go thru the problem and Solve it For me?

It is always safe to destroy an object, which you do not need them any more.
Moreover, the new keyword with Dim statements will initialize the associated object immediately and it will reside in the memory as long as the sub/function/module or project's scope.

I am looking for simple accounting aplication software. It was job from my senior in Lampung University, Engineering Faculty. This is the basic way in order to knowing VB.6. I must try this by myself. Can you help me... Please.
I want a program with
input: Date, name of transaction (include: debt/credit), ammount of money.
output: last saldo (after transaction), and can be shown as tabel
The point is: a simple accounting with debt, credit and saldo (automatically add).

is this possible, to create a database through the installation of a program, if you know that the poerson has mssql on their computer. I have to give a client a small program and am not sure if I have to manually run a setup script for the database, or if that can be done during the installation.

Create the DB manually.
Use sql files to create tables, sp's, Udd's and functions.
Now, write these sql file names in a batch(*.bat) file with isql utility(not isqlw) and with connection parameters as specified by MSDN (refer SQL Server Books Online).
Double click this batch program to do your setup program.

Is there a simple function similar to FileCopy that allows wildcards. I want to copy multiple files rather than one file at a time.
I am using VB 6

Use System.IO.Directory and its "Move" method to move the entire contents.
If you are specific about the file types use "Getfiles" method and get them into a string array and copy them.
