using WH_CBT hook may get some information when a windows' status changed such as creating/destorying/size and etc.
Some windows created may be dialog form , and some of them might be Information_style_dialog, some are warning_style_dialog through their icon style.
So , which info from lParam or wParam can help judge dialog's style while using WH_CBT hook ?

I think these "styles" only apply to the MessageBox() function, in which case, the "style" is not stored anywhere. It is created at runtime.
If some dialog is using similar icons, there may be no way of finding out, short of parsing the dialog box template, or the dialogbox instance itself.

if the applcation turn out an exception, can Hook help recognise the error just happened ?

Ok,
I am making a program for a friend that travels alot and has several internet connections around the world. Therefore he would like a dial up application that logs time on each different connection and all the details.
Now i can dial and hung up with no problem but once I have dialed I don't know what to do next. I seem to receive alot but internet explorer doesnt find any pages nor can i connect to something directly with the ip.
Could someone please point out the steps invovled in successfully connecting to the internet with a third party software package. Thank you.

So you have created a dialup connection using RasDial()? Is the Ras Entry you used connecting to an actual ISP?

yes, I'm testing it on Wanadoo Spain dial up service.

So when you use the Windows dialer with that entry everything works fine but when you use your application and RasDial() with that entry it does not work?
That is bizarre. I would not have a clue what would cause that.

generate key pair, signature a text file, no hash, then write to a listens file which can be complete revert to the text file. revert fuction also needs.

Ok, i know how to set the value of keys in the registry, but im not quite sure how to set the defualt key's value, is there some special way you have to go about? an example would be nice.

Pass a '0' or a NULL-String ("") i.e. two double quotes with nothing in between, to the RegSetValueEx()'s lpValueName parameter.
The hKey value should be an open key or one of the "default" root keys such as HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, HKEY_CURRENT_USER etc.

you have to give the value to defualt value of Archer key presents in following path.

Hello there!
Again I have a question for those of you out there... And this time it is all about 5 windows (modeless dialog boxes) I have being displayed at a certain point in time in my SDI MFC app. It happens that these 5 windows, which are created with a CFrameWnd as their parent (the main window), lose their focus, meaning they become inactive => therefore the thread subject).
That mustn't happen at all costs as it just hasn't got any logic -- not from the User Interface point of view anyway.
What I was expecting to create was five dialog boxes which look active whether they have the focus or not.
What I need, basically, is five windows, which look like toolboxes, that must look active independently of whether they have the focus or not.
Can someone please point me in the right direction? All comments/suggestions are more than welcome.

PS: By the way, these modeless dialog boxes have the "toolbox" style.

I'm sure there's a better solution than what I'm proposing: do custom painting of the caption bar (see this[^] article) and always execute the "is active" case.

Not sure what you mean by a title bar of a control. In general, you can customize a control's appearance by overriding DrawItem(). This method is passed a pointer to a DRAWITEMSTRUCT that defines the drawing operation to be performed.

Ah. Override CWnd::OnNcActivate() and return 0. This will prevent the window from appearing inactive. See this[^] MSDN link.
