I chose "Yes because it's being made by Microsoft.", but actually I'm not gonna buy it because I don't like playing games. However, if I would buy one, the main reason would be because it's being made by Microsoft.

Come on Roger, as you state you are "Roger Allen the man". If she is allowed to be cranky and bossy for 5 days every month (hardly good for moral fibre that) then you should be allowed to idle some time away on a game or two.

Actually while I respect and adore women I don't think us males are all that bad and we do deserve our own funny habits, plus the respect of women. I just felt Roger should not let his partner dominate him like that. If he wants to play a game or two then he should be entitled to.The 5 days every month example was a bad one to balance with*, maybe I should change it to "three hours putting make up on" or "change clothes three times before being allowed to go out".
When I hear a guy who's partner tends to rule the roost it tells me that she does not show the respect that he shows for her. I don't mean for him to just go awol and go the other extreme by becoming dominate (like John would advocate ). Rather reach a compromise and she should respect that Roger is not going to turn her kids into evil doers by force feeding them violent video games.
Respect, respect, respect. And compromise. Very important!
* though I have to say women are VERY unfair that they can spend 5 days being grumpy and bossy as hell, expecting us to be supportive, and then lash out at us "insensitive males" when we have one bad day and get a bit grumpy

Ditto! That game you need to invest serious time into in getting any good. Some people bloody live on those servers. I poke my head out and find myself on another map as some sniper takes me out hehe.

Amen to that! My PC can play those same games, and one million other tricks. I read an article about Microsoft's Xbox advertising campaign where they said that Microsoft plans on losing money on the Xbox for the first two years or so, just to break into the market. Why does that not surprise me?

Companies always lose money on the hardware. The console sells for $300 and that's about a $100 loss for MS. (I forget where I saw that figure, one of the big news sites, maybe ZD.) They'll make their money on selling first-party software, other overpriced hardware (like $30 for a freakin' DVD remote), and license fees from third parties.

Over the next few years, you will see all the games that never could be on a PC, appearing on the XBox. I don't know if you had a look at their developer information, but it is more like Windows to develop for than Windows is. Almost. And XBox offers one thing you can never have with a PC - assured system compatability. You don't have to cut out features because they might on the average Joe's PC. Okay, maybe games will feel more consolised on the XBOX (it being a games console and all), but not having to learn an entirely new architecture means that the majority of really good games programmers can already program for XBox.
I'll be getting one when they bring them out in Europe.

Why would I want to play on a console when I have a PC? Can anyone give me any good reasons?
I read a review of Halo on GameSpot and I was admittedly pretty jealous that the XBox had this game as it looks awesome, but then it shows the multiplayer mode and the poor sods have to share one TV screen. One shot had four people all playing on one screen.. 
Yes you can link the things together but how many people have 8 buddies all with XBox's all willing to troop over to your house to play? With a PC you just logon to the net and you have thousands of people to play against.
Also those flipping console controls are shocking... no mouse, no keyboard. Not hot keys or the classic AWDS movement!

I agree, although I spent a fair amount gaming, it's all PC based. I don't think I've used a console since the Atari 2600...

I clicked the same thing for practically the same reasons.
It simple really you play pc games for online stuff like quake
and the ps2 for games like Final Fantasy and Gran Turismo and
the xbox for err well, It'll be getting Grand Theft Auto if you haven't already finished it on the ps2 and err ... errr halo which got universally frowned upon the one time it was let out in public.
