i seeking for some APIs that'll give some information about the current powers source. And for the case the system is running on batteries give the total battery power remaining as shown in the application PowerMeter !

Does anyone here have example code that show how to send a WM_VSCROLL message to a CListCtrl control using SB_THUMBPOSITION, SB_THUMBTRACK, and SB_ENDSCROLL to scroll a listctrl?
I have watched spy++ and can clearly see that these are the messages that are being sent to the CListCtrl when dragging the thumb control of CListCtrl's scrollbar, but I can't get the list to scroll by doing SendMessage commands to the CListCtrl. Can anyone post sample code on how to do this properly if it is possible?

I have tried that, but it does not work exactly the same as the WM_VSCROLL message. The blting that it does is very poor. If I was able to somehow send the WM_VSCROLL message it would solve all my problems.

Hi.
Why sometime the intellisense feature disappear?.
I'm writing an aplication, and suddenly I don't have any more the intellisense feature, (for example the list of methods and fields of an object, etc).
I have Visual 6.0 Enterprice edition.
Should I install some patch or something like this.

It just does (no matter what patch has been applied). In the project's folder, delete the .ncb file. Open the project again and that file will get recreated.

I don't really understand your question, but the Visual Studio editor, or Notepad, come to mind.

Are you talking about source code? If so then copy/paste in whatever editor you use notepad, visual studio, etc. will work.

hi
when i was programming with BC and i would like to override a specific func of its libraries, eg. atan2, it was enough to put the same function with the same name and prototype in my own code, in one of my source files. then the BC would generate a warning, but replaced the original func in the link with my code.
this was the only method i knew for overriding system funcs, mostly used for debugging them.
do u know how can i do such a work in VC? i need to debug AfxInternalPumpMessage().

Is this a v7.x function? In any case, set a breakpoint on the call to that function, or if it is not being called directly, set a breakpoint somewhere within the function itself.

Hi all;
I am currently buidling an SDI application. This application has a CDialogBar (well, some sort of. The actual class used is derived from CDialogBar). The problem is that i have some list_controls which need to be updated and i need the dialog handle. Since the CDialogBar is modeless, the handle is lost and i get an "enormous" assertion error each time i try to add or remove items to the list_control. Can somebody please help me on this.
I badly need it.

We have derived our own class from the MFC CRichEditCtrl, in order to implement various streaming functions as well as providing a context menu for cut,copy and paste. This derived class simply inherits from CRichEditCtrl. This all worked fine under NT however we are now porting to XP and have found that cut and copy no longer work, paste is fine. This is the case if you use ctrl+c or the context menu. The code we implemented behind the context menu simply called the rich edits own functions copy() and cut(). I can get the context menu copy to work if I use :
HANDLE hMemory;\\Contains our text string
OpenClipboard();
EmptyClipboard();
HANDLE hData = SetClipboardData(CF_TEXT,hMemory);
However ctrl+c still doesn't work. Cut (ctrl+x) appears to remove the selcted text but it is not put on the clipboard. If I change my control to be simply a CRichEditCtrl, ctrl+c and ctrl+x both work. Why was this ok for NT but not XP? Any help would be appreciated.

In VS .NET 2003 there is a form designer for the Windows Forms widgets. But there's not a RAD environment for unmanaged (i.e., non-.NET widgets).

Hi friends,
I want to open/use a file. But I dont know wheather that ffile is accessed bu somebody else also.So I have to wait until that IO finishes.How do I achieve that? I am on W2K.

Create a worker thread, and give it access to a file handle. In that thread, create a loop that tries to open the file, and sleeps for a few seconds with each pass. When the file is successfully opened, end the thread. Now the primary thread has an open file handle to operate on.

None that I know of. There are ways of being notified that a file/folder is being changed, but you'd still have to periodically poll to check when those operations are actually finished.
