Here is a tip, which i received from an English collegue of
mine, many years ago:

I am right handed but use the mouse with my left hand,
which has the following advantages:

-you can use INS,DEL,HOME,END,PAGEUP PAGEDOWN, BACKSPACE,
ENTER, the arrow keys (!!!) and the digits block
without having to remove your hand from the mouse.

-For right handed, you can write your notes on the right
side while using the mouse. Another advantage is that the
writing paper can be right next to your keyboard as now the
mousepad is on the left.

It takes about a few hours for a right handed to get used
to left mouse usage. Use a drawing program like Paint
to practice. In a short while it becomes almost natural

I did swap the mousekeys but this isn't perse necessary.
Swapping mousekeys to left handed has the disadvantage
that when you are at another computer, although you can
move the mouse to the left side of the KB, the mouse keys
are not as you are accustomed to.

Give it a try if you like and you might never return the
mouse to "right" side again.
