To be honest, I am not doing well healthwise.

I had a severe attack of COVID while visiting the US. While the medical treatment was good, the nursing care on weekends was abominable and I rushed back to India. On a return visit to the US in April 2023, I suddenly got another attack of COVID. Again, I returned to India for medical care.

It was determined that I now have Chronic Kidney Failure and I am undergoing dialysis three days a week.

This led me to re-assess my priorities and I just decided Wordle wasn’t one of them.

I am also undergoing physical therapy for contracture of the hamstring muscle in both legs which prevents me from standing erect or walking.

So that is the story of my life for the last nine months.

I am under the care of excellent physicians in modern hospitals equipped with all the latest devices so I cannot hope for better care. And it is sufficiently low in cost that I fund my medical treatment out of my own pocket rather than return to US and get treated free under Medicare.

Regarding kidney failure, i had heard of some traditional Ayurvedic clinics in Wayanad - Kalpetta area of Kerala, offering Indian way of treatment, including yoga. Have you explored any of them. Maybe some lighter form of yoga can also help in the hamstring issue. (I had visited Wayanad as a tourist in 2016, and got to know of some of these specialized Ayurvedic clinics)

Aside, I was diagnosed with quite high diabetes in March 2021, and put on insulin shots for a couple of months. Thankfully no kidney or retina issue was found. Am now on a strict diet, with minimal medication, and regular yoga regimen, so that things are in control, and belly fat is reduced to near zero. Am on regular diabetic consultation (once in three/four months) with a famous chain of diabetologists in Southern India.

I don't really know software for improving images, except or the general purpose Matlab. But I do have some suggestions for what techniques you might try:
Tikanov filtering
Canny Edge filtering
The periodicity also suggest 2D Fourier transformation with filtering and reconstruction
AI might help with some aspect
If there is text then OCR might work

Honestly you almost certainly will need to use multiple tecniques and combine them to get a satifactory result...

MySQL (Oracle) is going to add JavaScript. So instead of using SQL.

The article has this bit of sage advice...

"enables developers to implement advanced data processing logic within the database. By minimizing data movement between the database server and client applications, stored functions and procedures can reduce latencies, network overhead, and egress costs"

That seems familiar ... hmmm ... Oh! I know! Same thing SQL already does.

Except that SQL is actually optimized to use the database.

This is no different really than moving a JavaScript server into the MySQL application space.

Oh sigh it gets even better. One suggestion...

"data formatting,"

Because of course that is the best place to format the data to be human readable.

But there is some relief - yeah!

"there is no support in the MySQL Community Edition."

The article does seem to suggest that the procs might be directly replaceable with the equivalent SQL. At least if they have enough sense initially to not make the database do what some other application should be doing instead.

Makes me wonder how many places that pay for Oracle the licensing fees are going to have employees that using JavaScript is going to be a good idea? I doubt DBAs are going to jump on this.

SQL Server? I use a lot of CLR (C#) functions in SQL Server for various parsing and formatting purposes which are not built-in.

Aside from other's responses I'll add that given what I found out about JS limitations trying to do hashing and value equality semantics it's surprising that they'd choose JS of all languages to augment DB ops.

I don't agree with any of it. Render unto SQL that which is SQL is my view.

But say I did - JS wouldn't be the first language I'd choose to implement.

Which brings me back to the crux of my comment the other day about JS, and how it's being used in many more places than it's ready for.
