When it comes to the grand scheme of things, I haven't a clue how the universe works. I've done many faceplants onto keyboards in my time. I don't know if these faceplants did anything good for me, but maybe if I took the time to repeatedly bash my head into my keyboard it would eventually pay off. When you bash your head onto the keyboard, is it the keyboard that eventually complies, or is it your head? For me, it's usually my head that doesn't comply. I'll take your advice, and find out for myself. You might be on to something.

lol! I'm going to try this. Every time I compile code, I will bang my head on the keyboard. If that makes it work better, I'm all for it. I wonder if I should wear a helmet. A bicycle helmet would fall apart, so I may go with a motorcycle helmet.

When it comes to C#, I'm in the same boat that you were in. It's a great language to know, but it takes time to fully understand, as w/ any programming language. If you want to keep up to speed, languages like C# are vital. I can't say I'm entirely familiar with it, but I can still use it in countless ways to produce all sorts of things.
Thank you for the welcome, OG. Once I find out where the mat is, I'll be sure to spit on it. I'm assuming that spitting on the mat is a good thing, but insulting certain cats is a reason for peril. I'm not sure what all that means, but maybe I'll figure it out with some time.

C# is (still) a pretty simple language, though it's getting a lot more complex as these things do. When I started an experienced developer could learn the language itself in an afternoon, no problem - now it'd take a day, maybe two to be thorough. Learning the framework(s) behind it that are essential to use it? Months!
It's a quote: A Bertram Chandler - Liberty Hall[^]. The pTerry version is better, but a bit too short and "real world" to be recognized as a quote*.

I registered many years ago because I was starting out in software development (VB.NET and WinForms at the time) and needed some help.
Google pointed me to an article here on CP and the author, who unfortunately passed away since, was very helpful.
It even inspired me to write some articles myself!
These days I mostly stick around in the lounge and my contributions to this site have deteriorated to bad jokes and anecdotes

When it comes to harassing witches, Monty Python comes to mind for some reason. I'm thinking of a scene in The Holy Grail where a group of people resorted to nonsense in an effort to justify themselves that she was actually a witch. That movie is so funny.

Why you're just a whipper-snapper. Back in my day, I entertained myself using rocks and sticks. Now we have the newly-fangled supercomputers that we hold in one hand. I find them to be irritating, but before electricity was discovered, I had to drag around a large wooden abacus. Those were the good ol' days. I even remember being in a car one day, and we ran over a dinosaur!

I don't know. I'm actually pretty old. You know what I spent doing this Friday night? I organized my internet bookmarks. I remember back in ancient times, the best access to the internet required a 28.8 b/s phone modem. It was only the elite people with great privilege who owned the coveted 55 b/s phone modems. You could download an animated GIF in under an hour! You could download a song in just a single day. Nowadays, we have more bandwidth than we could possibly ever imagine, but we only use it to look at cat photos. What would we do without the internet?

For most of my career, I worked in a proprietary language and a proprietary operating system. I joined this site when I needed to figure out how to implement techniques used in our products, but in C++ on commercially available operating systems. Various articles here were useful in that regard. But I only became active on the site a few years ago, once I actually started to write articles.
