Absolutely agree. I bought a ceiling fan at Home Depot and sent the receipt to my email. For the next three months I received daily advertisements from Home Depot for ceiling fans. What a complete waste of Home Depot's time to have their programmers send me advertisements for a product I had already purchased.

How do you know that's not exactly what it does? It can use your history to decide what new sites to show you. It doesn't say it will populate the recommended sites area with sites from your history.

As an FYI, I just came across this today. I don't have Win11, so can't testify to it's ability, but it looks nice: StartAllBack to fix all Windows 11 deal-breaking UI issues. Not free, but low-cost. I still use the old Win7 menu style with folders from Start10 program. Tried Win 10's monstrosity and couldn't organize it nearly as well so if I go to 11 I'm certain I'll end up getting something like that. And it docks right and left!!!

Extrapolate that out to the rest of the tech industry and there's the answer to why we are so resilient to organizing. Perhaps it isn't as much resilience as apathy, or we're not really as unhappy as a whole as some studies and tech articles would conclude.

Especially when nowadays the concept of individual performance is total fiction - we work in teams, depend upon each other to get things done, etc. Oh wait, management knows that, which is why bonuses are more and more becoming things associated with how well your team has done. There's quite a few articles on that, I'm just to lazy as an individual to provide a link to one of them for you. But the more interesting articles I've read about that recently point to the psychology of "team bonuses" - and the quite fascinating point that the concept works best when there is transparency regarding who is not performant.
