How many hours a week are you working?

Survey period: 15 Nov 2021 to 22 Nov 2021

Times are still a little weird for many of us. "Work" means anything that's part of paid employment (even if you aren't getting paid for some of those hours)

Seriously, with around 2.5 hours a day on personal phone calls/conversations during working hours and 2 hours a day on breaks, most of my days seem to be spent wishing I could just get back to work. Laugh | 50 hours a week is normal, maybe more depending on weekend plans/chores and what deadlines are looming. I also have a sometime Saturday job (avg. 2x month) where I'm able to spend the majority of my time writing code for the primary job.

Some friends/family say that I work too much. I say that they just don't get it...I like what I do and hope to get some uninterrupted coding done on the weekends. (it never works that way...certain family members require daily entertainment...and I must be the jester!) Laugh |

In a previous life, I spent 10 years doing factory work, the last 2.5 working a grueling schedule of 12 hour shifts with every other Sunday off. (avg. 78 hours per week) All that overtime pay and no time to spend it allowed me to save enough to quit and go back to school so that I could earn a living with my head, not my back. Smile | :)
